A Message from the Head of School

Welcome to our website and to Friends School Mullica Hill. Our school is the only Quaker school in Gloucester County, New Jersey, and one of 41 Friends Schools in the Delaware Valley. Our goal is to provide for each of our students an elementary education of the highest caliber, one morally rooted in the practice and principles of Quakers.

We are a school of over 230 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 8. Our average class size is 14 students. The intimate size of our classes combined with an advanced academic curriculum prepares our students for admission and matriculation at the finest independent and parochial high schools in our region.

Academic rigor combined with opportunities for social, creative, and ethical growth make for a complete school experience. Students must discover who they are, where their strengths and interests lie, and what kind of people they intend to be now and in the future.

Community and personal integrity are pillars of Quakerism. At Friends School Mullica Hill, these pillars provide the foundation from which our students learn that they are not only mathematicians and writers, but also actors, poets, athletes, musicians, public speakers, and most importantly, respectful and decent friends.

Although a website cannot substitute for an actual visit to our campus, we hope that you will nonetheless find these pages a good introduction to our school.

Friends School is intimate enough so that your child is known by all, challenging enough to prepare your child for the future, and serious about insisting respectful conduct among our students. We invite you to see for yourself.

Welcome!

Drew Smith
