In today’s learning environment, technology is an important part of the landscape. Most elementary, middle and certainly high school students depend on technology to communicate, to learn and to express themselves. As educators, we are charged with teaching our students how to use technology effectively and responsibly. Our students will need these skills in high school, college and the workplace. At Friends School Mullica Hill we are committed to incorporating technology into learning at all grade levels. We recognize that the Apple iPad is quickly becoming a leading educational tool used to enhance teaching and learning in a variety of settings including ours here at Friends School. The iPad is a portable, affordable and widely supported device. At FSMH, we are commitment to supporting our students and teachers with the use of iPad technology. iPads are used in all classrooms, from Pre-K on up.
Starting with the 2012-2013 school year, FSMH offers a 1:1 iPad program for the Middle School, grades 6 to 8. This “one-to-one” program will give each Middle School teacher and student access to his/her own iPad for academic use. The hands-on learning that has become synonymous with a Friends School education will be taken to new heights with the multi-dimensional learning opportunities a 1:1 program offers. Our iPad program is coordinated by our full-time Director of Technology, Teacher Jason Quattrone, and a team of Middle School teachers and administrators. Teacher Jason manages our state of the art computer lab hosting enriching summer camp opportunities like programming instruction in Raspberry Pi or our Minecraft bootcamp.
