Pinwheels for Peace – a whole school cross-curricular project
We began the year with the Pinwheels for Peace project. The making of an ephemeral child’s toy brings the whole school community together with a deeply serious purpose. The wind swept the pinwheels into life, and our hopes for peace out into the world. It is amazing at the insightful aspirations towards peace that the students wrote on the back of their pinwheel design. Daniel K. in the sixth grade, wrote:
“Peace is something that happens when people work out their differences and try to help each other.”
What a wonderful aim for our community this year.
