First Grade

Amy
In first grade, we are working very hard on our non-fiction
books! After choosing the animal that we wanted to learn more
about, we began our research. Once we had complete notes on
our animals we began writing. Now we are editing and we are
about to start illustrating the different chapters and our
covers! Come check our classroom to read our book previews
to get excited about our soon-to-be-published books!
In reading workshop, we have been reading the stories of
Frog and Toad. Next Friday, the students will act out a story
of their choosing with puppets! They will be creating their
own puppets with paper bags for the very silly characters
of the Frog and Toad stories! You can also come to our classroom
for the actors’ autographs!
In Math, we are looking forward to a really fun unit on Geometry!
Violin – T. Amanda
We are learning to read the notes "A" and "D"
on the staff. We are learning the difference between notes
and rests and we are playing songs that have "A"s,
"D"s, and rests. We continue to work for good violin
position and bow hold. For the spring concert, we will be
preparing a song with the notes "A" and "D".
