About Our Students

Children PlayingWe are proud of our diverse student body. Of the 230 students we enrolled for the 2006-2007 school year, 27% are students of color. Twenty-eight percent of our parents receive financial aid. Students live in communities all over South Jersey, with primary concentrations in Mullica Hill, Sewell, Sicklerville, Washington Township, Woodbury, and Woolwich Township areas.

Student families practice a wide range of religious traditions; the largest denomination within our community is Roman Catholic. While 5% of our students are Quaker, all of our students are taught according to Quaker values and participate in Quaker Meeting for Worship. Quaker worship is a unique spiritual practice that gives students of all faiths an opportunity to gather with students, teachers, and other members of the community in meditative silence without requiring that they adopt any of the Quaker religious belief system for themselves.

“Quakers believe that every person has a ‘divine light’ and that there is that ‘of God in everybody’. In our small community at Friends School Mullica Hill (FSMH), every student is given the opportunity to let their light shine and express their God-given talents. Whether students express themselves in the classroom or on the sports field, Friends School is the environment that fosters such activities.

At Friends School Mullica Hill, diversity amongst our students is one of our strengths. Throughout the history of The Society of Friends, the Quakers have always embraced diversity. At Friends School, we recognize that diversity is racial, religious, economic, and political. FSMH welcomes such diversity into our student body.

Friends School Mullica Hill serves students grades Pre-kindergarten through Eight. Small class sizes allow students to excel academically and maintain their individuality. Our goal is to prepare students for academic success and high school in a program fostered in the Quaker tradition.”

More information about the Quaker aspect of our school program is available at the Development Office.
