Circle of Friends, Head of School’s Blog – International Day of Peace

Sep 21, 2022

By Matthew Bradley Friends School Mullica Hill has recognized the United Nations International Day of Peace every year since its inception in 1981.  The annual tradition continued this morning as students, faculty, and staff gathered in concentric circles around the Peace Pole outside of the Hanshi Deshbandhu Building on this clear September day. I absolutely love this.

Yesterday was the culmination of our almost year-long artist in residency with educator/artist, Gail Scuderi, who worked with students to create new mosaic panels for our campus. At our Celebration of Creativity and Community, we officially unveiled our new mosaic panels with the themes of friendship, light, hope, and growth. Students shared their experiences and gave appreciation to all involved. Thank you to Young Audiences Arts for Learning, New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for the Arts Lab Residency Grant we received. Please be sure to stop and see the beautiful panels when in the neighborhood. ... See MoreSee Less
