Technology at FSMH

Technology at FSMH grew to accommodate needs during 2020, but we have since taken measures to taper use where we’ve seen fit. We have replaced the technology program in Kindergarten and First Grade with Nature Studies. Our 1:1 chromebook program now begins at 4th grade and those devices stay stowed in the classroom. In middle school, chromebooks travel with students throughout the day, where need for use is variable. They may take them home for homework, but are encouraged to stow them at school.

Technology Program

You cannot prepare students with 21st century skills without equipping them with computing basics, ethics in emerging technologies, media literacy/citizenship, and computational thinking fundamentals. In the technology lab, the aim is to prioritize hands-on exploration, collaborative creation, and social/emotional learning through mostly a project-based learning approach.
