We are an independent Quaker school empowering our students with a joyful, holistic, values-based education to last a lifetime. Through the Quaker guiding testimonies of Community, Peace, Simplicity, Integrity, Equality, and Stewardship, we support all to achieve their full potential and share their natural gifts with the world.

To nourish the development of the whole child, our curriculum includes musical, artistic, and physical education, along with classes in technology, science, and Spanish from Pre-K through 8th grade.

Summer Camp

Establishing A Routine by Jenifer Reed

Mar 25, 2020

I will start by saying I am far from an organized person, and I am sure there are so many out there doing this much better than me.  We have a 14-year-old, 7-year-old, a bird and an 18-month-old puppy in the house; chaos swirls around from early morning until evening. Gavin, my 14-year-old, is a freshman at St. Augustine Prep, and his high school was one week ahead of our Friends School with...

50th Timeline: 1985 – The End of the Alex Horsley Years

Mar 13, 2020

In the last several entries, we have discussed the tremendous growth of the school during Alex Horsley’s tenure.  In 1985, sadly for many Board members, teachers, parents, and students, Horsley accepted a position as the Founding Head of School for an International School in Atlanta.  In 1992, Horsley reflected back on his time in Mullica Hill, writing that my “main recollections are of...

50th Timeline: 1984 – “Caring for Each Other” – The First Pension Plan for Staff Members

Mar 6, 2020

In previous entries, we have discussed Alex Horsley’s push to carve out a new Middle School and to improve the campus with the Noel-Baker Building.  In this entry, we attempt to discuss his contributions beyond the academic program and the facilities. As Horsley himself wrote in the 1981 Fall Festival and Village Fair program “there is more to a school than pure academics.  Our school strives to...

Wow! Yesterday was a spectacular day for Day 2026! Students were assigned to two different teams, of course, the blue and the green teams! The morning started in our Kramme Gym with some introductory remarks by our student Heads of School for the day. Next our Dance club offered up a performance, followed by a lost & found fashion show. The 8th graders then announced their yearbook dedication to T. Sophie. After the indoor events, students were unleashed onto our campus where they enjoyed various games, inflatables and Kona Ice. The morning ended with a foam party! So much fun! Thanks to T. Tim and all our family volunteers for an amazing day! ... See MoreSee Less

Three weeks until Summer Camp at Friends School Mullica Hill!

One of the most unique things about our camp is that our counselors are graduates of our school, former campers and members of our faculty and staff.

Whether campers work with current teaching professionals or students who have been through our program, everyone is committed to having fun!

Camp is open to any child ages 3 to 13

It begins on June 22 and ends Aug. 14

Last week, FSMH hosted a circus themed art show in our Hanshi Deshbandhu building. Every student from Pre-K through 8th grade had a piece in the exhibit. The students’ mediums included water colors, mixed media, acrylic on canvas, glazed ceramics, and yarn just to name a few! Congratulation to all our students for their amazing work! ...
